Content marketing – as the name suggests – is the process of marketing through the use of content. When people search for anything online, they are ultimately looking for information, entertainment, or both. All these things are provided through content. Sure, people might check out a website in order to buy something, but in that case, they won’t stick around and they will rarely come back. Moreover, even if they do go to your site just to buy, they will likely get there through content. Why? Because that’s what Google understands.
